I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books (the third one will be published later this year) and wanted to share my reviews with you.
My First Graphic Novel
A friend swapped me The Adventure Zone graphic novel in return for him reading Illuminae. I had never read a graphic novel before and I have never listened to the podcast on which this book is based. This post will not only be a review of The Adventure zone, but also of the graphic novel... Continue Reading →
This Is Where It Ends And Age Ratings In Fiction
This is where it ends is a wonderful book.
Biannual Bibliothon Wrap Up
As some of you will be aware, it was the Biannual Bibliothon last week. I posted my TBR on the 8th, so let's see how I did...
The Fandom Review
A work of genius, it got me to laugh at several points, and I never laugh at books. It plays to all the stereotypes of the genre, in a way that makes you love them so much, then laughs at you for liking them...
Spark Review
Following the usual tradition of the second novel in a trilogy, not being as good as the first, this book was not as good as Ink. Taking the time to see the other side of the coin, we spend the majority of the novel in a society that seems to just be there to contrast the one we just left..
Ink Review
Ink was an amazing and refreshing read. Despite being disguised as a ya dystopian novel, its true value comes from the questions it asks and the answers it gives...
I Am the Messenger Review
Having never read this book before, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I borrowed this as an audiobook from my library based solely on the fact that I loved the Book Thief also by Markus Zusak (one of my favourites). This book was equally as good...
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Review
And so it ends. My annual pilgrimage to Hogwarts is over, but I still have some things to say...
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Review
The problem with re-reading this book is the ending. Every time I start to read it I get a sense of dread, as I know what will happen in the end. Despite this, I thought that it was quite an enjoyable book...
July TBR
As it is the start of my summer holidays, and I have two readathons that I would like to participate in this month, I have a large and overly ambitious TBR this month. Here we go...
Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag
I've seen this floating around the book community lately, so here are my answers to the Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag. I have read 73 books so far this year, so I have a lot to choose from...
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Review
This book was a lot more interesting then I remembered. While it does introduce the most hated character in the series, it still has a lot to offer both plot, character and theme-wise...
Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire Review
I thought that this book had a more interesting plot that than any of the other books so far. For the first time the focus the majority of the novel is not on Harry's education but on the challenges of the Triwizard Tournament. It also provides an interesting new light as the reader knows how... Continue Reading →
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Review
While this has always been my favourite Harry Potter book, as it is at its core the start of the main plot that carries through to the last book. This time everything feels bigger and more dangerous...
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Review
I loved this book, the characters are amazing and the plot is well thought out. While I am biased as this is one of my favourite series of all time. Having said that, I haven't read these for a while so it was nice to read them from relatively fresh eyes.
