A good conclusion to a good series. I thought that the reason that Mortmain wanted Tessa was quite amusing and he does in his own way have a sense of honour that the other characters don’t seem to recognise. I did, however, think that it was a bit stupid that he didn’t have Tessa change earlier, and avoid the whole problem of the trilogy.
The characters in this were well written, though I did think that the epilogue was badly done. The fact that Tessa managed to have both of her loves was a poor ending as it stopped her from ever having to choose. On the other hand, I did quite like the way that Jem was treated and his adventures with the silent brothers.
